A wait must end

Margel Hinder, Jerry, 1945

 Don’t wait for me.

I don’t think you need to,

anymore.

Because

I don’t need to be with you,

for you

to know that I’m there.

Just as now that,

that I’m no longer anywhere at all,

it is enough,

to remember,

I was with you.

Don’t wait for me,

forever —

before you remember

to live.
